Ten Happy Little Piggies
Politics? Color me temperate. Food? Sure, I love to eat it, but it does not necessarily inspire infatuation. Sports? Couldn’t care less—and I really mean that. Sports could drop off the planet, and I wouldn’t even notice. Children? They are cute, but I don’t feel the need to have any of my own right now. However, I can think of one thing that not only inspires a great passion in me, but also causes me to actively seek it out, spending my hard-earned dollars as easily as water flowing to the sea. About which great item or concept am I referring? Shoes, of course!
I am only quasi-embarrassed to tell you that I own 5 pairs of boots, 14 pairs of high heels, 8 pairs of flip-flops, 3 pairs of gladiator sandals, 4 pairs of ballet flats, and 3 pairs of sneakers, and I don’t even WEAR sneakers! I’ve got Uggs, Earth Shoes, MBT’s, BCBG, Aldo, Nike, Saucony, Aerosoles, Steve Madden, RocketDog, Sofft, Crocs, Dansko, Michael Kors, Sam & Libby, Hush Puppies, Chinese Laundry, Double H…you name a brand, and my darling little piggies have squeezed into a pair! I am really of the mind that a woman cannot own enough pairs of shoes. And with this generous foot philosophy in mind, I tip you off to one of my favorite shoe sites: Footsmart.com. They carry a generous selection, though not as big as Zappos. They do, however, often have prices that beat Zappos, so don’t automatically default to them when buying online. Shop around, and see what Footsmart can do for your feet. For example, they’ve got Sketcher Tone-Ups on clearance right now for $25, but they sell for almost $50 on other sites. That is a price you can’t beat with a stick. But you should be beaten with a stick, if you still choose to pay full price!
The other great thing about Footsmart is that it is really geared towards helping and supporting our feet. You can shop by “condition”, which means if you have corns, hammer toes, high arches, bunions, leg pain, ingrown toenails, shin splints, weak ankles, or are just flat-footed, you can find shoes and support/relief products for whatever ails your precious little pigs. Call it the most foot-friendly site out there. Because you ladies know that standing around looking hot in your favorite 5” heeled Fendi peep-toes for a few hours does not always make the happiest feet. Footsmart.com is the place to treat your feet, not just clothe them. And before you go running off in your new Nikes, swing a foot (or at least your optical mouse) on over to WantACode.com to nab valuable coupons and savings codes to keep your feet on the top of their game!
